Wonder strike from Aholou gives Angers 1-0 win at high-flying Monaco
Monaco's poor run continues
Monaco's recent poor run of form continued on Wednesday as they were beaten 1-0 at home by Angers. Stephane Bahoken laid the ball back to Sofiane Aholou just outside the area and the Ivory Coast international curled a fine effort into the top left corner to leave Alexander Nubel with no chance.
The result leaves Monaco winless in five Ligue 1 games and they have now dropped to seventh in the table, while Angers have moved up to 11th.
Monaco's poor form continues
Monaco have now won just one of their last eight league games and they have dropped down the table as a result. They are now seventh, 10 points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
Manager Philippe Clement will be concerned by his team's lack of form and he will need to find a way to turn things around quickly if they are to challenge for a European place this season.
Angers move up to 11th
Angers' win over Monaco was their second in a row and they have now moved up to 11th in the table. They are now eight points clear of the relegation zone and they will be looking to continue their good form in the coming weeks.
