Woman and four children are safe, man is in custody after abduction
The suspect was taken into custody at the scene of the incident without incident.
A man has been arrested in connection with the abduction of a woman and her four children in Missouri. The woman and children were found safe shortly after the suspect was taken into custody.
The incident began around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, when the suspect allegedly forced the woman and her children into a vehicle at gunpoint. The suspect then drove the victims to a nearby location, where he held them against their will for several hours.
The suspect was eventually taken into custody by police at a home in the 300 block of East Main Street in Dexter, Missouri. The woman and children were found safe inside the home.
The suspect has been identified as 32-year-old James Edward Clark. Clark has been charged with four counts of kidnapping, one count of armed criminal action, and one count of unlawful use of a weapon.
The woman and children are all being treated for minor injuries.
Clark is currently being held in the Stoddard County Jail without bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, July 6, for a bond hearing.
