Wakimoto Leads After 2nd Round of the TOTO Japan Classic

Tokyo, Japan – Wakimoto Extends Advantage in Tochigi

Nasa Hataoka briefly threatened to catch Sae-Kyung Baek during the second round of the TOTO Japan Classic, but the eventual winner of this tournament back in 2019 couldn't find the final push she needed. Hataoka finished with a 69 and remains three shots off the lead.

Minami Katsu (65) bumped up 10 spots to third place. Atthaya Thitikul (65) did the same and jumped nine positions to move into fourth.

Overnight leader Ai Suzuki, who led by one following a three-under 69 on day one, came back down to the pack after shooting a 71 in the second round. Currently, she sits tied for ninth place heading into the final round.

Impressive Season Continues for Wakimoto

Wakimoto has had a solid 2022 season thus far. In January, she finished tied for fourth in the Hilton Hawaiian Open. Since then, she's stayed consistent by making every cut this year. She's also posted four top-10 finishes, and a win at the TOTO Japan Classic would be her first since 2019.

Inbee Park Set to tee Off for LPGA Mediheal Championship

7-time major winner Inbee Park will tee it up at the Mediheal championship outside of Los Angeles this week. Park, a former world number one, has gotten off to a slow start in 23 events played this year, making just eight cuts, but she will be looking to keep her season rolling in an attempt to reach the CME Group Tour Championship.
