Updates To UFC Edmonton

Edmonton, Alberta, Canada – April 28, 2023

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) announced today several updates to its upcoming event, UFC Edmonton, scheduled for Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Main Event Change

The previously announced main event between former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos and Bryan Barberena has been canceled due to an injury sustained by dos Anjos in training. The promotion is currently working on securing a replacement main event and will announce it as soon as possible.

Co-Main Event Announced

The new co-main event for UFC Edmonton will feature a lightweight bout between former title challenger Dustin Poirier and rising star Mateusz Gamrot. Poirier is coming off a victory over Michael Chandler at UFC 281, while Gamrot has won four straight fights since joining the UFC.

Additional Fight Changes

* The welterweight bout between Neil Magny and Shavkat Rakhmonov has been moved to UFC 285 on March 4, 2023, in Las Vegas, Nevada. * The light heavyweight bout between Jamahal Hill and Paul Craig has been canceled due to an injury to Hill. Craig will now face Johnny Walker at UFC 283 on January 21, 2023, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. * The women's flyweight bout between Jessica Eye and Manon Fiorot has been added to the card. Eye is a former UFC flyweight title challenger, while Fiorot is undefeated in the UFC with six straight wins. * The featherweight bout between Charles Jourdain and Ilia Topuria has been added to the card. Jourdain is coming off a win over Lando Vannata at UFC Fight Night: Santos vs. Hill, while Topuria has won three straight fights in the UFC.
