Syracuse Cross-Country heads to ACC Championships
Orange set to compete in conference meet after rainout
Syracuse's cross-country teams will travel to Tallahassee, Florida, this morning to compete in the ACC Championships.
The meet was originally scheduled for Friday, but was postponed due to heavy rain.
The women's team is ranked No. 12 in the country and is looking to win its first ACC title since 2015.
The men's team is ranked No. 15 in the country and is looking to finish in the top five.
The Orange will be led by senior Anna Purchase, who is the defending ACC champion.
Purchase finished first in the women's 6,000-meter race at last year's championships with a time of 19:37.9.
She will be joined by a strong supporting cast, including sophomore Paige Stoner, who finished fourth in the race last year.
The men's team will be led by senior Joe Whelan, who is a two-time All-ACC performer.
Whelan finished 10th in the men's 8,000-meter race last year with a time of 24:07.3.
He will be joined by a talented group of runners, including sophomore Aidan Tooker, who finished 15th in the race last year.
The ACC Championships will be held at the Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida.
The women's race will begin at 10 a.m., and the men's race will begin at 11 a.m.
