Shawsheen Tech's Trunk or Treat brings community together for fun, charity
Event raises money for local food pantry
Hundreds of children and their families turned out to Shawsheen Tech's annual Trunk or Treat event on Saturday, Oct. 29.
The event, which was held in the school's parking lot, featured over 50 decorated trunks where children could trick-or-treat. There were also games, activities, and a bonfire.
All proceeds from the event benefited the Tewksbury Community Pantry, which provides food to families in need.
"We're so grateful to the Shawsheen Tech community for their support," said pantry director Pat Buckley. "This event is a great way to bring the community together and help those in need."
Shawsheen Tech's Trunk or Treat has become a popular annual event. Last year, the event raised over $5,000 for the Tewksbury Community Pantry.
"We're always happy to support such a great cause," said Shawsheen Tech Principal Tim Powers. "This event is a great way for our students to give back to the community."
In addition to the Trunk or Treat, Shawsheen Tech also held a food drive during the event. Over 1,000 pounds of food was collected and donated to the Tewksbury Community Pantry.
"We're so impressed by the generosity of the Shawsheen Tech community," said Buckley. "This food drive will make a real difference in the lives of our clients."
Shawsheen Tech's Trunk or Treat is a great example of how schools can make a positive impact on their communities. The event is a fun and festive way to raise money for a worthy cause.
