'Looking forward to the rush:' Billings convenience stores prep for Montana Millionaire ticket sale
Convenience stores in Billings, Montana are preparing for a rush of customers as the state's new Montana Millionaire scratch ticket goes on sale.
The ticket, which has a top prize of $1 million, went on sale Monday at all Montana Lottery retail locations. Convenience stores are typically some of the busiest lottery retailers, and they're expecting to see a lot of traffic in the coming days.
"We're definitely looking forward to the rush," said John Smith, manager of the Town Pump convenience store on Grand Avenue. "We're expecting to sell a lot of tickets."
Smith said he's already had several customers ask about the new ticket. He expects sales to be strong throughout the week.
"People are always excited about the lottery," Smith said. "And with a top prize of $1 million, this ticket is sure to be popular."
The Montana Millionaire ticket is the first scratch ticket in Montana to offer a top prize of $1 million. The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 600,000.
