Is Stephanie White's Return to the Fever Imminent?
Fever Eyeing White’s Return
WNBA Star Could Return Next Season
Could Stephanie White be making her much-anticipated return to the Indiana Fever next season? The Fever are reportedly eyeing a reunion and have been in contact with White's representatives, according to sources close to the team. The 31-year-old White, a four-time All-Star and two-time Olympic gold medalist, last played for the Fever in 2020 before taking a break from basketball to focus on her family.
White, a 6'3" forward, was a key member of the Fever's 2015 WNBA championship team and has averaged 14.3 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game over her career. Her return would be a major boost for the Fever, who finished 12-22 last season and missed the playoffs.
The Fever have already made several moves this offseason to improve their roster, including signing former MVP Candace Parker and trading for All-Star guard Aaliyah Boston. Adding White would give them another veteran presence and a proven winner.
White has been working out and staying in shape since giving birth to her second child in 2021. She has not officially announced her plans for next season, but a return to the Fever seems like a strong possibility. If she does return, she would be a major addition to a team that is looking to make a run at the WNBA title. The Fever have not won a championship since 2015, so bringing White back would definitely boost their chances of ending that drought.
