Bayer Targets Stuttgart Head Coach Sebastian Hoeneß
German Club in Talks with Current Stuttgart Boss
Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly in talks with Stuttgart head coach Sebastian Hoeneß as they look to replace Gerardo Seoane. Seoane was sacked by Leverkusen on October 5 following a poor start to the season, with the club currently 17th in the Bundesliga.
Hoeneß has been in charge of Stuttgart since 2019 and has guided the club to promotion to the Bundesliga and a ninth-place finish last season.
The 40-year-old is seen as one of the most promising young coaches in Germany and has been linked with a number of top jobs in recent months, including Bayern Munich.
Hoeneß Would Be a Popular Choice at Leverkusen
Hoeneß would be a popular choice with Leverkusen fans, who are keen to see a young, ambitious coach take charge of the club.
The German coach is known for his attacking style of play and his ability to get the best out of young players.
He would also bring a wealth of experience to Leverkusen, having managed in the Bundesliga and the Champions League.
Stuttgart Unwilling to Let Hoeneß Go
However, Stuttgart are unwilling to let Hoeneß go without a fight.
The club are reportedly demanding a compensation fee of around €10 million for their coach.
Leverkusen are thought to be willing to pay this fee, but it remains to be seen whether they can agree on a deal with Stuttgart.
