Autumn Series: Scotland v Fiji: Zander Fagerson a doubt for "personal reasons"

Zander Fagerson could miss Scotland's Autumn Test against Fiji as he deals with "personal reasons".

The prop played the full 80 minutes of Scotland's historic win over Australia last weekend but is now a major doubt for the match with the Pacific Islanders. Glasgow Warriors team-mate Oli Kebble has been called up as cover.

"Zander Fagerson has withdrawn from the Scotland squad ahead of this weekend's match against Fiji for personal reasons," read a Scottish Rugby statement. "Glasgow Warriors prop Oli Kebble has been called up as cover.

Fagerson, 27, has won 54 caps for Scotland, including two appearances so far in the Autumn Series.

Kebble has played twice for his country and was part of the summer tour to Argentina. He will join up with the squad before their captain's run on Thursday afternoon.

The news is a blow for Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend, who will have to decide whether to include Kebble in his starting XV or keep him on the bench.

Scotland have won their past eight matches against Fiji, including a 28-12 victory in the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

The match kicks off at 2 pm on Saturday at Murrayfield.
